I just looked at benchmarks and it looks like your only getting around a 10 frames per second difference between the two cards.

Check the 5850 score, compared with the 5870 score at different resolutions and you'll see what I mean.

The 5850 simply flies already, and doesn't look like its worth the extra price

The 5870 and 5850 have a difference of one SP cluster and like 100 MHz.

It really isn't a huge difference, but it is worth the price difference imo.

Or go for uber performance and crossfire two 5850s. It isn't too much of a stretch.

Checked that out and it seems you are right, and your right again it doesn't seem to be worth the extra the money. Thanks for checking that out for me and for everything else you have all been great. I will be starting this in April and I will be checking in with you then. Until then thank you so much, I will be going with your build and 'mutant corn's' case and power supply. Thanks again guys.
