Do you really need a 500W sound system in your room? Like I have the money to buy it and stuff, but would it just be too much due to the size of the room? is there a point where it just gets too powerful and just doesnt perform to its capabilities?

My room dimensions are approx,
4.2mx2.9m

heck no. Just because its rated at 500w, doesn't mean you have to push it that hard. That is the max it will put out... you will normally probably only use 200-300 of it when listening normally. Plus, that 500w is most likely split up 6 ways (5 satellite speakers and one sub). I dont remember the specs totally, but it really isn't going to be as loud as you think.

yeah its like 70 per each satellite... then 150 for the sub i think...
but yeh i think im definetly going to get that + an Audigy 2ZS Platnium...
