I'm upgrading from a 20GB Hd to 80GB. I'd like to partition the new drive among Windows XP Pro, SuSe Linux and, if I can, Solaris. I'd also like a shared partition for cross-platform programs and file formats. How much space should I assign each partition.
I ran fairly comfortobalbly on 20GB with Windows, but some more space would allow me to add more programs (mainly devloper tools, but also some math and graphics software). I don't store movies or any such large files. I'll still be doing most of my work on Windows. The other partitions will be mainly for educational purposes, so I'll need space to store typical programs and developer tools. If I can, I'd like to store duplicate programs so I don't need to reboot whem, say, I want to watch a DVD.
