LCD interchangeability?

I'm lookin' for a screen for my gateway (don't laugh too hard) mx 6131. I think I got the only one. Searches return very little; almost zero.

There's at least hundreds of Gateway MX xxxx models, w/ identically configured 15.4inch screens/bezels/specifications (to a 'T'):

15.4-inch active matrix (TFT) LCD color display
Maximum panel resolution: 1280 × 800.
Maximum color depth: 32-bit (16.7 million colors) at 1024 × 768 and 262,144 colors at 1280 × 800
LCD supported video modes
XGA
SXGA+
WXGA
LCD maximum refresh rate: 60 Hz

If the screen fits, is there any way that one with a different part # (by one digit) would NOT work?

I've been googlin' for 15 - 20 hours this weekend - no luck so far. Waitin' on a compatibility listing from Gateway...

I broke down the bezel for the screen, and got a manufacturer's part # - LTN154X3-LO1.

It came up first in google at a russian joint, for Compaqs. And only half a dozen other hits total.

Anybody got an idea how to find what models this unit went into???

just buy a whole new monotir that would be eaiser if i get your post right your trying to replace JUST the lcd screen

Yeah unless you got any sort of warranty on your LCD.

theres a million of them i was searchin ebay at random guess the little computer angels sent you a prayer lol i had no idea they sold these
