i just found my recovery CD for the Aptiva so i dont have to worry about calling IBM

But now i have a bigger problem. when the hard drive is formatted using the CD it says the File Allocation Table is bad and it wont recover Windows

That would be the File Allocation Table on the CD? I think it probably would - you'll have to try and find a better Windows CD - sorry!

Unless it is the Hard Drive - which would likely be cheaper. I couldn't really tell you off hand liek this.

Well, i know 4 sure that its not the CD
When i see the FAT is bad, its in the summary just after i format the hard drive
And its not the hard drive because i stick 4 perfectly fine hard drives in it and they don't work but there fine elsewhere

Motherboard could just be plain gone?
