cool - im all for this. In honesty, future weapons has something like this, where they mounted a high power green laser on a rifle/pistol/shotgun. In hostage situations or the like, the operator could shine the laser in the eyes of the baddie. The baddie would be blinded, and be distracted. This would give crucial seconds for the operator to non- or less-than lethally neutralize the assailant. it sure is a lot cheaper than munitions or a soldier.

What kind of power green lasers are you talking, are you talking about ones that can burn ?. Im all up for soldiers carrying 200+MW lasers in afghanastan and iraq. If a soldier approched me in mid-night and a Green Beam was shone in my face and actually hurt, id shore run like the wind !

Thats cool... Still.. I think the USA's ADS is still the best non lethal thing going (as of now)

I think they are meaning something man portable. That's nice in a crowd type situation, but getting it deployed can be a pain. (no pun intended)
