Laptop Or Desk Top

Dear Friends...

I am perplexed between head and heart about going for a Desk Top or a Laptop.

I wish to practice Photoshop CE and MAYA6.0 on this and... Clearly could not make out what to go for.

As Lappy gives me mobility but expensive and with a high risk element if something goes wrong.

Desk top, on the other hand is cheap, scalable but immobile.

Please let me know the best hardware configurations for the both options... And please remember... I need this equipment to practice Photoshop CE and MAYA 6.0

I would sincerely appreciate guidance in any manner.

well if i had the choice i would probably go with the one that's going to suit your needs the best. yes it's true mobility can have it's rewards, but it can be a pain to upgrade parts...

if you plan on upgraging in the future and you don't plan on being moble, i would go for the desktop. i myself have always been a desktop guy, but i have had a lappy before, and it was great and all, but i did'nt take it with me alot, so my main pc was the desktop.

Well it depends if you want to travel with it etc. Desktops can be more powerful and more upgradeable, but laptops are very powerful also, but much harder to upgrade.
