Laptop HDDs

Im going to be buying a notebook with a measly 6g hdd, im going to replace it, but this being my first notebook i dunno much bout their hardware. are there seperate hdds for them or can i just buy a generic 3x5 internal hdd? through all my shopping around ive never seen notebook hdds, just wanted to make sure.

If you find out what mfg your notebook is made by, youll prolly need to get a specific drive that will fit that model.
