laptop fan making noise!

a hp pavillion dv1000 (says on screen) / dv1410 (on bottom sticker)....then fan on the bottom of the laptop is starting to make a noise, kind of like when a baseball card is stuck on a bike wheel.

get one of those air cans, with the little nozzle, and spray inside by the fan to get the crap out of it (dust, etc.)

Sounds like something got caught in the fan, like a piece of wire or cable.

well before you do that... is it under waranty? b/c if you open it up, it might void the warranty... try calling tech support and see if they will fix it for free.

i don't know what i did, but whatever i did the noise went away.

Probably a good shake could jar it loose or something, lol. In a way, I hate laptops because it's a bit harder to work and not much you can do in the upgrade department, but at the same time, it's so convienent having a PC on the go. I use it for class everyday instead of having to go to a dedicated computer lab on campus. Plus, I have wi-fi setup on it so I can use broadband Internet anywhere on campus!!!!
