Just a simple noob question

Just because i have integrated audio(on my mobo) that doesn't mean i can't use a sound card right?

no, it doesn't, you can still install a sound card. and use it.

If you have a PCI slot, yes you can use one. Just make sure you disable your onboard sound drivers.

yeah I use a sound card, it's a cheapo $30 one called "philips" but I've had it for some time and is quite clear........onboard audio generally will use up CPU power to get the sound, and I've noticed on more than one occasion sound being choppy when a game is loading because of that......however of course some onboard sound is better than others, but still a sound card is generally much better

sound cards are generally better than integrated. i use an integrated MSI chip, but ive got a hearing disability and i dont think i would be able to appreciate the difference

just make sure you disable the integrated sound device in ur BIOS

You can however run 2 sound card's at the same time, I have ran up to 3

SB Live! is like $30, SB Audigy is $40 or $50, upgrading is cheap, improves performance, and sounds WAY better.
