jus a question about a what if scenario AVG

Not sure what section to put this in

lets say a workstation got infected wit a virus and lets say AVG 8.5 wasn't updated and did not show threat detected then the person using the workstation quits or is fired and leaves the machine off.
then you come in before someone is hired to clean up and update the computer so you turn it on and no threated detected and without your knowledge its infected remove AVG8.5 to install AVG9 can the computer get infected worse by removing AVG8.5 first?

Well the definitions for AVG 8.5 still suppose to be constant, if it wasn't detected and you uninstalled AVG, the risk might be more, but it will be detected and most likely be removed with the updated client. Unless it's some very bad infection, in which AVG wouldn't really play a part installed or uninstalled.
