Is watching a movie that is streamed online illegal? I've always been curious, thanks TF.

But would it not be perfectly legal to watch streams from companies such as Netflix which have the rights to stream said media?

What would make it legal or not would be the source and if they have the legal rights to stream certain movies.

The general rule is that "any unauthorized use" of such media is illegal. Netflix is authorized to stream them since they are a paid service, any free online streaming that is not authorized (which most probably aren't) is illegal.

No, it is not illegal if the company is authorized to stream the media.

Theres full movies on youtube legally, because they are authorized to do so.

There is a huge difference between Hulu and YouTube and some ".ru" website, though.
