is there a site that i can use to compare different computer configurations to see which is faster?

i don't really know how to understand computer configurations. how does one intel chip stack against a different amd chip. whether chip speeds matter more or ram. etc etc.

is there a site i can enter various specs into and it tell me how they would compare against each other? it would make my life so much easier.

I do not know such a thing, nor do I imagine that it would be possible to do it at all.
Maybe my knowledge is limited, because I haven't had much contact with Windows, only since the days of Dos, and I only have a technical degree.
I am quite sure that women in the meat market know more about this.

There's some pretty basic sites out there that compare synthetic benchmarks (PassMark, CPUBoss, etc.). But those don't really compare much for "real world" performance (browsers uasge, games, everyday apps, etc.) - only specialized, synthetic benchmarks.
