is staying on Win7 after support ends dangerous?

Well it's not like your Windows 7 pc's will explode tomorrow.....
With a good antivirus and careful web surf you can still get by with that for a short while, should you decide not to try other avenue's to get those ESU updates for 7.
Windows 10 LTSC version is another option you can consider too

Window 7 will function fine after support ceases; updates will cease and first party software may not work; the activation server may be "blown up" (lol)many games in development will not support older windows; I intend to build a new system for windows 10, but keep my current windows 7 system my main. Currently, everything working on my 7 system works, updates in online games may break those games in question.

There is the question of antivirus programs, I have an overbearing pos from cogeco that will flag everything regardless, so I guess Im safe from the biggest porn addict; the site suggestions for freeware anti virus never steered me wrong.

AV's won't defend against zero-days, and OS-security issues though. I'm not saying you're going to get infected, hacked, etc. I'm saying it's a RISK that you should be aware of, that you're accepting by using an unpatched OS. No different than everybody clinging to XP.

Thanks everybody for your input.
I will definitely upgrade to Win10, I just have not found the time yet and I'm a bit nervous, to be honest.
If I can still get the Windows 10 legitimately for free, that's cool, but I also would not mind paying for a license (I saw them for as chap as 30-40 Euros).
The main problem for me now (why I always procrastinate when planning a fresh clean install of an OS) is backing everything up, taking note of product activation keys of software I have installed, etc.... AND re-installing everything (mainly software I use for music recording and production).
