Is my desktop unit any good?

Hi All,

I have just purchased a Dell OptiPlex 760, it has 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, Core 2 Duo and a 2GB ATI Radeon HD5450 graphics card.

I will predominantly be using this PC for office based work but do enjoy playing the occasional game, mostly games like Football Manager etc.

Is this PC capable of doing what I need at a relatively high level?

Your graphic card is an old low end model. So it's not gonna perform well.
However, football manager doesn't sound like a game that requires much.

For office stuff, it will do fine... But that's not saying much, since any computer would.

CPU is from 2006 GPU is from 2009/2010. Both were not high end in their product lines. Even if you had high end models from those eras (Say a Q6600 and a 5870) you would still have a terrible computer by today's standards.

I really hope you didn't pay more than $140 for that machine WITH Windows or you got ripped off.
