Is it safe to route 8-pin power connector under GPU?

OK. First build and stuff. With the case I have, I'm left with little room in some areas, so I'm thinking of routing my 8-pin CPU power connector up under the GPU (see image). But I'm just wondering if it's entirely 'safe' to have it so close to the GPU, as it's almost right up against the heatsink and such...

So basically...

Is this a fire hazard? Or am I stupid?

(ps. On a sidenote, I could probably wedge it under the motherboard, but ehh...)

In most cases you can route it behind the back (i.e. take 2nd panel off the PC and run it up behind the mobo & metal plate), sometimes you need an extender to make it reach though. If that's not an option then yeah you're find doing what you're already doing.

I wouldn't ever recommend directly under the mobo as there's sometimes small sharp solder points that could easily pierce the cable after a while and cause all sorts of bad ****ery. A random 12v short to your mobo won't be good.

Thanks for letting me know, cuz like, I'm not trying to fry something lol.

Either way, I've finally zip-tied everything down, so it's probably gonna stay in that spot for quite some time now..;.
