Ipod video question

I know there is another post out there like this.Sorry for bring up another 1 but,
I was wondering if it is possible to put your own vids on one of these or can you only put vids you purchased on a Ipod Video?

I think you could put your own video's on, you can now add videos in iTunes 6.0, presumerably, if an iPod video was plugged in, it would then download it. Despite that, I dont know

Apple would be stuck in a sea of press controversy if they didn't allow that, so I guess they will. If only to save themselves public backlash.
