I have a Western Digital 160GB Scorpio Blue that I bought an enclosure for after my netbook 'died'. I plugged it in and it showed the file system how it was last I used it. I decided to format the drive. Unfortunately, the enclosure was unplugged from the computer in mid-format and now the disc is not recognized in My Computer or Disc Management  . However, I do hear the noise made when plugging a new device in and out. This noise repeats itself, yet no recognition is made by the computer as to what it is. I can hear the drive spinning. It is running. Is there anything I can do to fix it? Thanks.

Good tip wildcat, once you have completed the full format I reccomend doing a check disk chkdsk /F /R /x

and check the file system sectors and clusters.

Kind Regards
