Yes, they take advantage of the unfortunate few who can't get cable or dsl. :(

You can;t set it up yourself? Or does it have to be like "certified" in order to work? That really does suck...

DSL here is only $40/month i believe (Verizon), and since my dad works from home 80% of the time Fidelity Investments pays our internet bill at the end of the month. Pretty sweet deal if you don't mind working from home. (sometimes it's annoying bcuz he shuts off MY internet when he is working with servers on the internet...i take his bandwidth if he's working on something REALLy critical)

Heres my 1.5Mbit Cable stats

Communications: 7.1 megabits per second
Storage: 871.8 kilobytes per second
1MB file download: 1.2 seconds
Subjective rating: Awesome
Date & time: Wednesday, November 17, 5:37PM
Test type: IDT4 Free
Connection type: Cable
Region: Illinois
Data size: 605KB
Provider: Comcast.net

Even though I get pretty good download speeds I get REALLLLLYYYY Bad upload speeds, I think comcast's advertised upload speed was 700Kbps but mine only gets like 280Kbps.
