Intelli Explorer Mouse

Hi everyone !
Now, i'm having problems with my mouse. It won't work! When I plug it in, and it's USB, the laser lights up for just a second, and then it dies on me. At the same time, WinXP sais that my hardware is having problems..
I'm hoping that the laser turning on and off points to something being wrong. Does anyone know what?

It sounds like your battery is dying. Try replacing/recharging it.

My dad gave me that same mouse.It gave me similar problems what u said or it works then goes dead.I am pretty sure there is a short in my cord,maybe it is the same for you how long have you had it mine is 3-4 years old.

Yeah, I've had mine for about the same time. But I doubt it's the cord, because I used my hands to 'examine' it, and it never turned on.
I did have a short in my cord once before, and I've managed to easily repair it. It's a very known problem in this mouse.

buy a new one i see the at compusa for like $20 I am going to get it myself I like how it fits in my hand.

Why do people always mistake OPTICAL mice for LASER???? Two completely different techs.

I know it's optical, but how am i supposed to refer to it?
Like, i move my mouse and 'optical technology' lights up ?!
