Intel or AMD

as this site shows, there is very little difference, sure AMD are good for gaming, but I dont do that. I think that for my uses, Intel are best for me. Maybe not you though.

vey nice board. the only thing wrong with it is that it doesn't support DDR RAM.

I dont want stinking DDR RAM, Im gonna use DDR SDRAM, thats better and faster, but more expensive. Trust me, RAM is my specialist subject.
The best bit about this computer that I'm building is that my parents havent specified a budget...so I'm gonna build a BEASTIE, I intend to equal if not beat Darkblade. I think 2 gigs of RAM looks puny compared to 8 gigs lol, joking, but I am gonna kick your sorry ass, lol

I wish you the best of luck, this PC cost me nearly 4,000! I am installing my phase change cooling pretty soon, so cost will be 4,400 when I am done. If you have the money, go for it, I can walk you through the configs. LMAO!

Techy Geek, get a dual core AMD, it slaughters Intel in single threaded apps and beats it by a thin margin in mutlithreaded apps even despite Intel's HyperThreading. BTW Techy, ALL RAM is SDRAM...

nah, im going to uni too, theres thousands and thousands in there, a lot whatever happens, and anyway, we could do with a new computer, the other desktop is appalling, 256mb RAM Intel Pentium 4 1.5 ghz 40 gigs Hard Drive, not very good, so this new one is gonna kick ass and last for years

I do intend to rival your computer Darkblade, however, I am not going to get such a good GPU, theres no point, I dont game, have you got any suggestions for a good GPU thats about £100. Thanks for that correction, you can walk me through the configs if you want to
