Ok, so i DL'd the ISO from microsoft.
Burnt it to a blank Dvd R, using magicISO

in bio's set the boot drive at my DVD drive,

hit enter to boot drive...

the drive spins up, gives me an option to...

"choose an operating system to start or press TAB to selection an option"
-Windows setup [EMS Enabled]

and then there is the Windows Memory Diagnostic i could to do, but i did the Setup option, and what i get is a little loading screen with a loading bar at the bottom of the screen, saying "windows is loading files"
and it hangs at about 25% for about 10 seconds, then it tells me...

"windows has enounterd a problem comunicating with a device on this computer"
with a paragraph 'explainging' it to me.
Status:0xc00000e9
Info" An unexpected I/O error has occurred.

Anyone got any ideas? I really want to try W7...
i wanna do a clean install to. All my important files and programs are on my 8Gb thumb drive.

I know all my comp components are working cuz i run XP Pro 32bit fine.

are any USB storage devices plugged in?
Try burning it on another DVD if possible or re-DL the ISO.

there was one, but i took it out, and retried to install, got the same thing, Umma DL it again, should only take 10 mins.

Have you formatted the drive? I heard that it requires a format to install.

I formatted my 2nd partition and installed it just yesterday without a problem.

is there a way to create a partition on a hard drive?
B/c my whole hard drive is used as just c: drive, can i just turn some of my c drives free space to make a new partition? um at the management screen but i cant figure it out.
