IMG code is off?

I noticed today that in the computer graphics thread, I am unable to post images because IMG code is turned OFF. So is HTML code. I'm just a little confused as to why IMG code is turned off in the 'graphics' thread... No big deal really, just wondering.

I'm guessing, because of the volume of graphics it would be a nightmare for people on a slow internet connection if all the graphics got displayed
