If you have severe, chronic back pain, would you visit a chiropractor?

If I have back pain, I ask my girlfriend to give me a massage. I've never been to a Chiropractor though.. I never really had a severe back pain. Thank god.

I slip a disk in my back once or twice a year and it's pretty painful for a few days. I've tried medical doctors, massage and even acupuncture but regardless, it takes a few days of bed rest before my back is better. I never tried a chiropractor for my back but I know people that swear by them.
