Now my specs are in my comment. My mobo does support SATA HDs. That part is not even a question. The question is is SATA worth it? Here are the two MOBOs which iäve narrowed my search down too.

Which is a wicked deal at 3 bucks per gig.

Same HD

However its 16 MB cache, and SATA

Now installing the IDE HD would be a breeze just stick it in and plug it in. However that SATA would be more difficult because iäd have to buy SATA cables. If anyone has any other suggetions of HDs over 320 GIGs and under 130 bucks you can add those too. However my main debate is over those 2 HDs.

deffinately go with sata, its faster and the cables are much smaller, also check out seagate hard drives, theyre much better than western digital

iunno.. they're all the same to me... yeah that seagate looks fine, but i don't see what's wrong with the western digital.. i use a hitachi and it works fine lol.. basically my rule of thumb in regards to hard drives is just. STAY AWAY FROM MAXTOR

I currently have a maxor and I have had a maxtor for like 3 yers now maybe 4 it runs just fine for me.

all the maxtors i've ever owned have clicked their way to death in less than 6 months =/

SATA is the way to go. And shouldn't your motherboard come with SATA cables? Mine did, so why shouldn't yours?

Always get what's newer. SATA drives aren't that expensive anymore and just as cheap as the old IDE drives. The cables are cheap too if you need to get one. Newegg has a bunch of them. All my customers are using SATA because I don't give them a choice in using IDE, lol.
