Hey guys, I've had a 15" monitor and dvd driver and other parts on ebay for a while, they havn't sold but i'd hate to have to throw them out(hd monitor 1440x1050

They came off a R40 with the ati graphics problem, but I know all the parts work because i tested them on another.
I remeber on my inspiron 8000 you could take a video card from an 8400(i think) which was a radeon 9000 and slap it on there, tripling its performance, because all the parts were interchangable.
I don't necisarely like the R40, so I was wondering if I could buy, say, a T43 with a bad screen and slap these on there, would that work?
If there's some magical list of what parts are interchangeable on these then please show me
