I use DOS-BOX software to run 32bit software on my 64bit PC - Does it affect my PC?

Since I need to run 32bit Turbo Cpp on my 64bit PC(Windows 7 Home basic), I have been suggested to run it through DOS-BOX software. Well, TCpp is working well on DOSBOX, but i am afraid if DOS-BOX affects my PC. Advice needed.
