HP Laserjet Printer.... help!

Hi,
I have a HP laserjet 1100 printer and am running Windows 2000 Pro(SP4) and have installed the driver and everything seems to be ok untill i print...

(e.g.) i done a test print and a window appears Titled 'Printers Folder' and in that folder it says 'There was an error found when printing the document "Test Page" to LPT2:. Dou you want to retry or cancelling the job?' Retry button doesnt work and cancel button obviously cancels.

this problem is the same all the time. anybody help?

well first when you install a printer it will ask you what lpt you want it in. try lpt1

I first tried it on LPT1 and still came up with same error, thought it was a problem with the port so i installed a PCI Parallel card(LPT2) and the same error appears.

Everything is connected properly, latest driver installed... printer is on before someone asks that.

Any other suggestions pls?

try uninstalling and go to start>control panel>add hardware; and install the driver that comes with windows.

you said you tryed the WINDOWS DRIVERs that come with windows?
by any chance is it networked?

The PC is linked to the network yes but iam just trying to install the printer to this specific pc as it will only be used by this pc, so i dont really understand how being networked affects it?
