HP Digital Entertainment Center

Alright, my Uncle has the old WebTV, (the dial-up internet to your TV) well, he's tired and sick of it, and wants something new. I recommended the HP z556 digital entertainment center. He's very interested and probly will order one. But, he has a High Definition TV, with digital cable. (the digital cable box has an HDTV signal) Can this hook up to a digital cable box? Will he be able to record shows off the digital cable from the PVR? and will he be able to watch HD from it? He's also going to get a cable modem... will he be able to hook that up to the HP entertainment center too?
