how to reformat back to day one?

I want to reformat my laptop back to day one, but I'm not sure how. I am running vista and when I first got the laptop I made 2 backup discs because the manual instructed me to do so. Can somebody walk me through the process of this. Thanks

save your files pop the discs in reboot and see what they say
