Ah right, so installing XP will be faster running, but you will still have lag problems with vista.

As for a good partitioning tool, id recommend Acronis Disk Director as it works well with vista.

so what your saying is there is no way to get around the lag without buying more ram?? would OC'ing fix it or at least minimize it??

partition magic is the best and safest way to resize partitions

i dont think that 1gig would slow vista down too much what version you running?

Yeah, it could help a bit. Check out this post by another member who had problems with resizing partitions, this backs up what i said about acronis disk director.
