Installed a new dvd burner, but doesn't work. Went to device manager ,new drive is ok. Would like to check the bios, maybe even the registry, just to see if that's the problem. How do I check all that? The tray works, so I know there is power.
Are you sure the SATA/IDE cable is plugged in to the motherboard/drive properly? The drive will open as long as it has power - it doesn't need to be pluged into the motherboard.
