how do you deal with information overload?

If I'm using google I use a few tricks, like quotations and the "+" symbol

EG:

("gateway mt6729" +"replacement battery") would be how I would search for a new battery for my laptop

theres more tricks but they only come to mind when I need then haha.

OR if I hear a song on the radio and I want to find out what it is I would search"on the edge and falling off its all over" +lyrics and usually the first would come up as three days grace - its all over lyrics

I run a search, and then refine it by adding additional search terms. That way I see how close I am each step of the way.

If you are using Google (and it applies to most search engines I know of), you do not need to put in an "+" (and) operator; it is the default.
