Well.. did you build your computer or did you buy it from Dell or something like that?

My guess is that you bought it prebuilt from someone. If so, get the model number and go on the person's website you bought the computer from and get your specs. Post your specs here and we can help you further.
 
If you bought it prebuilt.. you should know that opening your case usually seperates a special metalic sticker that voids your warranty. Just FYI.

That's pretty stupid... I didn't know that. Good thing I don't buy prebuilt computers.

Get CPU-Z. That'll tell you your type of motherboard etc...

That's not stupid...That's how they all are. Gateway, Dell, Compaq, all of them. They all have some way to tell if you've been dorking around inside the box. If they can void that warranty, they will.
