How do I check the specs of my computer?

I got to replace my tower. How do I check the specs of this "new" used tower? I pull up dxdiag and it tells me some stuff, but not everything. For example, it tells me what the marketing name of my CPU is, but not the processing speed. It tells me my video card's memory, but not the clock speed (which I understand is the most important part of a video card's specs). How can I get a comprehensive spec sheet of every object in my tower without having to look up the names on Newegg?

there is a huge amount of different programs that tell you all kinds of stuff about your computer. I used to use everest, it's pretty good though I found that it didn't display the correct temperatures.

Yeah i use both them and cpu z to find out more about your cpu

Oh yeah , belarc advisor is good for listing all your installed programs
