Quite a complicated question you've asked here, I would say. It depends on what exactly language you're talking about. As we speak of javascript, it's pretty easy language to learn and will come in use for sure if you consider to build your career in web design or layout only. Just take a look at codeacademy, it's a free one, and mozilla's guide if you're about to go advanced. But if you're interesting in something more functional and comprehensive, so the Java is my suggestion to you. Well, it's way more complicated language as well, but it'll be ok if using this resource in order to learn java explainjava.com/category/java/ basics and get to know some way to practice on that. But you should either consider that learning every programming language is a long-long way to go, so don't hesitate with that and start as soon as you clear about what you're into
