This is from a friend and I know you've helped me plenty, so maybe you could help her.

"Basically, noone in my company can access our company website or really any websites on that host server. Basically its not resolving and I cant ping it . I CAN ping the IP Address of our webhost. However! Once you get outside our office network you can access the website fine. ALSO we can send and receive emails fine and it uses the same IP address."

Any ideas?

how is your companies domain set up?

I used to work for a company that had a (Active Directory) domain name of xyz.co.uk and a web public name of xyz.co.uk as well...

since you have to have DNS on your AD for it to work, as far as your company is concerned the DNS server for your company is the start of authority, and hence you'll need to have an netry for the webserver...

if you can ping, (and or) browse the site by IP address, it's almost certainly a domain name resolution problem.
