home network issues

Everything is plugged in properly, and my modem recognizes the power, DSL, and Internet with their respective lights showing it; however, the modem cannot detect any ethernet cable whenever I plug them in to the network router. Anybody help with this? BTW, the router's respective lights show all connections functioning properly.

if you're uplinking them using a crossover cable try a straight thru, if using a straight thru try a crossover.

That could be it, or just try a different cable... could be that you have a bad cable.
