home group with windows 7 and XP

Hello. I'm new to this computer lark and need some help to set up a home group. I have a pc upstairs running windows XP and a laptop downstairs running windows 7. I have recently bought 4 home plugs and put them in the rooms where we will need access to the network. How do I set up a home group between the two computers to allow file sharing and printing from the laptop please?
Any help would be very useful

That's the best way to do it. If you have a spare computer laying around set that up as a file and printer server following that guide BikerEcho linked.
