how close are we to the sci-fi movie technology and workplace?

my favorite movies are swordfish and tron legacy.
mostly because the the tech part.

then goes stargate, fringe and pretty much all the other nerdy movies

im just wondering what kind of work place would have that much tech and is as exciting as those two movies

or is it pretty far from reality?

i havent really experienced anything mind blowing in real life yet most of my jobs are pretty lame and i get bored after some time.

it is my favorite movie tho was very inspiring when i was a teenager

companies with that much tech would include

NOCs, Internet Web Host Companies, Banks, Stock Exchanges, Casinos, Universities
