This comes to $1292.46 w/o shipping. I am going with the mobo for the on board video. I do not think i need a vid card from this thread - http://www.techist.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=77323
I do have a couple of qeustions. I chose 2 kits of 2 x 512mb for the price. According to MSI's website the mobo will downclock the ram if it is doulbe sided. How do i know if it double sided or not? Also, would you go with the 4 sticks of 512 or go with 2 sticks of 1024? I was kind of thinking each core could get a set of ram. I know this probably isn't so but hey. I know that i am going with a mATX board and a mid tower case. In the Jan 06 issue of MAXIMUMPC there $300 machine had this and it worked. I also asked on their forum and a guy there said it worked. Please tell me it does. My budget is $1500-1600 - depends on my bonus in mid feb. It will be my first build. That is all i can think of right now.

that computer will fit your needs. exept for the floppy drive. don't know why people still buying them but you wouldn't be using it once installed.

if you are doing video editing you might need a better video card, it helps with mpeg encoding/decoding

in video editing..... there is no mpeg encoding/decoding........

Everything is done with uncompressed avi's

if i knew ALL the answers i would OWN this forum, but i don't. i added the floppy because i saw floppies in the pics for the mobo. do i Really need one.

THANKS FOR THE HELP.
