help with playing a video

so i edited a video on my mac and burned it to a dvd, but didnt make it .vob, but it stayed as .dv

what i wanted to do is now upload it to tinypic video section and its not recognizing it, and my windows isnt recognizing it either. it says its corrupted. theres no scratches on the disk. i tried quicktime, and vlc media player.
