Hey everyone. I have very limited knowledge when it comes to selecting a laptop, but I have narrowed it down to 3 choices that are in my price range. I was hoping that you guys could help me select the best computer for my needs and also give me the pro and cons of each brand.

I travel a lot so I need a computer for taking online classes and preparing power point presentations. I would also like to watch movies and play games (i.e. Command and Conquer and WW2 shooter) so nothing intense.

The 3 that I have chosen are

HP pavilion DV6910us

Toshiba satellite L45-s7423

Tosiba satellite p205D-s7438
http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/rdet.jsp?poid=394268&seg=HHO

I like that the HP and the later has wireless internet installed and probably cheaper than buying one. Also from what I understand is that the first and last one has the better processor. So I am leaning towards those 2 more than the middle choice (toshiba L45). Thanks in advance

So $1300 looks like the most you want to spend on a laptop? May I suggest an alternative? I don't like either of them. Here's what I propose. Get one similar to mine. It's great on the go and the 9-cell battery option extends the laptop power for hours to come:

Choose between one of these:

I also bought my new laptop from there recently (a few months ago). You can see it in my sig down below. I spent around $1200 total and it's not bad for what I got.

Thanks for the advice ISOwner. Actually all I can really afford to spend is around $900. I'm in Iraq right now and I don't want to spend too much on a PC that might get damaged due to sand and travel. Also right now I am limited to shoping at AAFES.com or here at PX.

If you don't mind, would you be willing to explain why you don't care for these computers...THanks

the first and last seem ok to me, it just would have been better if they had core 2 duos, and 2gb ram, but they still seem pretty powerful to me.
