Even if i save as a.bmp and rename the file .gif still saves as unanimated...any ideas

You don't save it again. Just change the extension.

Thanks for trying to help guys but the reason i couldnt do it was because my browser was corrupted....

Is all fixed now...BTW even if u rename something as a .gif that is just the name of the file doesnt make the file a.gif..just means it was called nameoffile.gif.bmp
