help needed in backing up system

Is there any way that I can backup the contents of my entire hard drive, including the OS and restore the whole thing to a new hard drive? I'm kinda tired of backing up individual files and having to reinstall all my operating systems over again.

Yeah, use Norton Ghost, that takes all of the files (OS, Documents, everthing else), and transfers it from one harddrive to another.

You can back up everything yes, but I am not sure if it will be bootable. The MBR would hold all of the partition information and drive stats of the previous hard drive. There might be some kind of conflict.

Norton Ghost is good, but if you want something free, I suggest GNU Parted (Linux though)

Partition Magic will do the job too.

I currently have Fedora Core 5 and Windows XP installed on that system. Would it be possible to just backup my Windows install?
