Don't use Microsoft products, you have been warned.

Use alternatives, 'Yahoo Messenger'!

Try contacting MSN Support

or

Delete bootstrap.exe and MSN Messenger & all it components then download Bootstrap and reinstall MSN Messenger

Bootstrap.exe should be stored in
'c:\DOCUME~1\Daniel\LOCALS~1\TEMP/IXP000.TMP\'

Hopefully all other programs and up-dates will be sorted

Picked this off another site, it seems that a lot of people have had your problem but there is no clear answers on how to correct it:

If you are experiencing the error “Error creating process <{temp file location}>\bootstrap.exe /MSN” when installing MSN Messenger, the following may apply:

1. The MSN Messenger install file did not download correctly.
2. The package of the Setup file did not get extracted correctly.

In order to resolve the issue please try the following:

1. Download the MSN Messenger installation package

a. Create the folder C:\MessengerSetup to download the Messenger installation package.

If the folder already exists, select its contents and delete all files in it.

b. Go to http://messenger.msn.com ---OR---
United States Please visit http://messenger.msn.com/Download/OS.aspx.
Other countries
a.Please visit http://messenger.msn.com/Locale.aspx, select your location, and then click OK.
b. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen.

c. Click Download Now and click on the Save button.
d. In the Save as dialog box, select the C:\MessengerSetup and save the package to it.

2. Extract the downloaded package

a. Click Start, Run and enter cmd in the Run window to open a command window.
b. At the command prompt type in cd C:\MessengerSetup and hit Enter and the prompt changes to C:\Messengersetup>.
c. Enter the following command based on the operating system, to extract the contents of the package to the desired folder:

Windows 98/Windows ME setup9x /c /t:C:\Messengersetup
Windows 2000 setupnt /c /t:C:\Messengersetup
Windows XP setupdl /c /t:C:\Messengersetup

The files bootstrap.exe and Msnmsgs.msi are extracted to the C:\Messengersetup folder.
d. Type exit at the command prompt to close the command window.

3. Install the Msnmsgs.msi package

a. Open Windows Explorer
b. Navigate to the folder C:\MessengerSetup
c. In the Windows Explorer window, choose Tools followed by Folder Options.
d. In the Folder Options window, click on the View tab.
