Help! i can't delete files

Hi,
For some weird reason, each time I try to delete a file my computer locks up for about 30 seconds and then the folder in which the file is located closes. The file still isn't deleted.
I get this problem each time i try to delete a file, but not when i try to delete a folder.

If anyone knows a solution for this problem, please post it in this thread.

could be spyware/viruses..run a virus scan (go online if u aint got 1) and also downoad and run ad-aware. also defrag ure hardrive

Go into safe mode as well. That's a pretty sure way to delete most anything.

What are you trying to delete, anyway?

it doesn't matter what file i try to delete... as long at it is a file i can't delete it by selecting it and pushing the "delete" button on my keyboard. I can delete it by dragging it into the trash can however...

i can't even right click on a file :S

can you try to right click the file in safemode, and go to properties/ advanced & uncheck the boxxes that associate it w/your comp. (uncheck both boxxes, and click appy) then try to delete it.

if that won't work, you can try to delete in in the registry. but make an export of the file 1st, before deleting it.
