Help/Feedback on my new gaming rig 1800 budget

So its time that I built my own gaming computer and I've been doing a lot of research and have put a build together. I choose intel over amd due to the sandybridge which has been getting alot of good feedback. I was quite confused on which motherboard/graphics card to pick so any feedback on my choices would be much appreciated. Also if you see anything that I should swap out for better performance but doesnt affect the price that much that would be great. Currently my shopping cart is at 1417$ without shipping and I also still need dual monitors and mouse/keyboard which i expect to be around 350$. My budget is around 1800.

i am enjoying this motherboard. get some super permormance with an ssd, unless there was something in that motherboard that you needed for that much more money.

Yes my budget is 1800 but that is including dual monitors and keyboard/mouse which was not included in my original post.
Jason thank you for pointing out that the cpu/psu are overkill. The link to the mobo isnt working though. Also I heard good things about gtx 500 series so I wanted to stick to that unless the card you linked is much better.

I don't know first hand, but i don't think that anyone particularly recommends the asrock motherboards.
heres a comparison between them. if asrock are infact ok to buy, compare them here

but it looks like theres a few more usb and other friendly things on the one i listed to justify $20 more. i also dont know how the asrock does on oc'ing.


if you like nvidia, thats fine. but with a budget like that, you might as well get the best gpu you can, unless you really don't plan on playing games made in the last year and on.



that psu cpu combo looked good until i saw that it wasnt the 2500 K the k unlocks the multiplier and justifies the $20 increase in chip price or so to get the overclock.

you would also want a HSF to get those overclocks too. i dont have any recommendations there, but the zalman that im using is quiet and cool.

alright man,

here it is, this will max out any game on the market with a minnumum of 60FPS, on the COD series youd be looking at well over 100FPS. i wanted to give you crossfire of 2 7950s, but i just couldnt get it with in budget, so i went with the BEST graphics card on the graphics card on the current market. i just did the computer, i came $300 under budget, so you can use that for any of your periferials. just a side note, i have been in compititions in COD4, and won a lot of them. and i use my Dads old office keyboard and mouse that i got from him about 6 years ago. so you DO NOT need super 31ite 006ber awesome expensive mouse and keyboard to game with. but thats for you to decide, thats just my input. but, here is the computer i came up with for you.

Yea I dont know why I picked the asrcock but sean that build looks really good the only thing that worries me is the HDD. To my knowledge WD is the most reliable brand but I am mostly concerned because I thought that F4 was the newest series for samsung and the F3 wasn't that good. Is it worth it to knock up to a 64mb cache and sata 6.0gb/s?

ive never heard/read anything bad about the samsung F3, but at the end of the day, its your computer i was just pointing you in the right direction.
