Hello I am a newbie

Put as few files on the desktop as you can. You can put shortcuts to files on the desktop, but the actual files should be put into folders on your drive, like my documents or the music/video/photos folders.

Good Wed Afternoon CortB and Mr. Mixx,

Mr. CortB, What you say really interest me. However, as I've tried to make clear, I am a complete "no nothing" almost nothing about the tech side of computers. The error message on my post, I have no idea how it got on my computer since I did not put it there. I have no idea what it means other than, it's on the C: drive where all of the programs I've purchased goes there for some reason. If someone here could explain to me what that error message is all about I would appreciate.

Now, how do I create a "Folder" for all of the stuff on my desktop and how do I categorize and place all that stuff in these folders? It seems like that's a good beginning because my desktop is full of stuff. Thanks so much sir.
