HDMI to VGA

Hi everyone,

I have a laptop that I am trying to get to work with my LCD 42 inch JVC TV. I have a HDMI port on the TV, so I bought a HDMI to DVI convertor and then bought a DVI to VGA convertor and plugged it into my Laptop. I went to Nivida Control Panel and it finds the TV but the TV will not show a picture at all. Thanks for your time

You can't convert an analog signal into a digital signal using that technique.

can you not use the " color plug in's " like the red, white, and yellow, or red, blue, green?

Those are composite/component inputs. Only one of them is capable of receiving high definition video.

It sounds like your lappy only has a VGA external monitor connection. Your TV should have a VGA input on it that you can connect directly to. If not the current configuration you have will not work.
You're feeding an analog signal to a digital input. Doesn't work...
